THE FINE DETAILS!

How do I go about booking a session?
It’s really easy to schedule a session with me!
Start by filling out a quick questionnaire by clicking the “booking” tab or the “Book A Session” button above. Once submitted I’ll be in contact with you to set up your no-obligation consultation! A session retainer will be required to hold your date, but we will talk about that and go over other details or questions you might have at your consultation. Most choose to place their deposit at their consultation, but whenever you’re ready to formally book I’ll handle the rest!

How far ahead do I need to book?
I book about 2-4 months ahead, and even sooner during the holiday season. If you are currently expecting or looking for a wedding photographer, I highly suggest booking as early as possible. I do maternity sessions between 28-36 weeks of pregnancy and I only schedule a few weddings each year.

Who’s your clientele?
My clients are usually Families, Seniors, Brides and Grooms, but my client can really be anyone! If you’re willing to get out of the norm, you are my clientele. I am the perfect fit for a family, a high school senior, or the couple willing to embrace the moment and who understands the impact of a photograph. I am the photographer for the clients that are willing to go on a whim, and just go with the flow of the moment. I will be the right photographer for the client wanting something different and relaxed. Someone who enjoys the traditional, but can also bend the rules and try new things all while preserving their priceless moments.

What is your style like?
My shooting style is on its own playful, serious, lighthearted, and whimsy at the same time. My editing style is vibrant and bold with contrasting yet complimentary colors. I also enjoy a subtle matte + film look to my images. I like to be able to offer a break during your session if needed, but also to have a certain pace as to not make the event stressful. I will shoot the funny, the sweet, the love, and even the sadness. I want to capture all that is you!

What do I need to do to book?
A session retainer is required when formally scheduling to reserve your date. I love to meet in person before anything though to go over your vision and ideas, my process, and to discuss any questions you might have. During your agreement signing at the consultation, you will also have a chance to think about what you might like for your artwork order! Your artwork packages and any a-la-carte items won’t be selected at this time though. That will be done at your personl Gallery Viewing appointment! I typically do this in the comfort of your own home at a time that fits around your busy schedule.

Does the session retainer include any products?
The session retainer does not typically include any products. The session retainer covers my time and creative talent, post-processing, delivery of your gallery, product ordering and delivery, as well as travel time. This also includes in-person viewing appointments.

Do you offer any discounts? Payment plans?
Yes – I do. I understand that quality photography is an investment, and I want to make sure that I can cater to your photography needs easily. I offer a loyalty discount and referral discount. I have a Senior Rep Program that includes several discounts and incentives for upcoming graduates. Fire, Police, EMS, and Military (active or retired) also receive a discount. Please ask for details.

How long does a session last?
Depending on the session type and how many are being photographed, an outdoor session typically lasts 1 to 2 hours. Weddings will vary depending on the type of coverage you want (4-8 hours).

How many photos do we get in a session?
This all depends on the duration of your session and type. I will present 15-40 images in a typical gallery at your in-home viewing appointment (this includes both color and black and white photos). Weddings and events will have more due to their nature. These are the images that have met my standards in the quality that I want to present to you. These images will already be fully edited to my signature style. From there, you get to choose your very favorite portraits to bring to life!

Where are you located?
I reside in Yakima, WA – But I’m ALWAYS willing to travel! No location is too far, and I love a good adventure!

What is your technique with kids? Because mine likes to run around
If your mini likes to run around, so will I! I love photographing kids just the way they are. Though I will toss in a couple of posed shots in there, majority of our time will be snuggling, cuddling, and running around. It’s the best way to capture how they are! If you’re worried about getting your babe to focus, I recommend bringing along one of their favorite toys. (Please no candy though – this makes for messy faces!)

How long does it take to receive our images?
Your proof gallery will generally be ready within 14-18 business days after your session. Or 25-30 business days for weddings/events. From there, we meet again for your in-person viewing/ordering session (or online if distance is a factor). It takes another week or so to get your artwork delivered depending on when and what you order.

Can we use the poses I found off Pinterest during my session?
Pinterest is such a great place for inspiration! I myself enjoy it so that I can find photos and blogs that can help me out with my everyday life (hello baking recipes!). With boutique photography though, I do enjoy creating ‘unique to you’ images! I strive to not create the same two images for different people. If there are a few select poses or embellishments that you just love and want to incorporate into your session, feel free to show me! I will do my best to include them with my own creative flair. Part of you hiring me as your story teller is that I promise to create artwork that best show you off, and I do this by observing the organic. This way, we produce portraits that are sincere and not contrived. As an alternate, I suggest browsing through my blog and social media pages, and showing me which images you are drawn to instead.
